REEL SOLUTIONS FOR YOUTH COULD BE COMING TO YOUR COMMUNITY!
Hey young anglers, want to learn more about fishing? Maybe your community and school will be on the list for a visit from our "Reel Solutions for Youth " travelling education tour. Through a grant from the Fisheries Enhancement Fund we are able to expand our program this year.
We plan on visiting various locations in Manitoba during May and June during the school year. This would be a one day visit with a couple of hours of instruction and some fishing thrown in for good measure. At the end of the day, our participants will be able to walk home with their own fishing gear. So if you want us to visit your community let us know!

A brief outline of activities:
SCHOOL COMPONENT:
- Two hours of instruction on-site at a pre-determined location (i.e. school, community centre, etc.);
- Two hours of fishing from shore at a pre-determined waterbody;
- Rods and Reels, and tackle for the young anglers to take home to continue fishing; and
- A sponsored lunch for participants.
STAKEHOLDER COMPONENT:
- An evening of instruction for families and beginning anglers with the possible donation of used fishing equipment through the Gear Up program.

The goal of this site is to promote youth fishing opportunities in a user-friendly format, and connect children with programs that are designed for them. Whether you live in an urban centre or a rual area, fishing helps build self-esteem for kids are provides them with a life-long coping skill.
